Fiend—A being formed when delusion overwhelms the human soul—when reality itself is rejected, rewritten, or consumed by false meaning. Fiends are driven primarily by distorted perception: they believe in lies so completely that the lies reshape them. Desire, identity, and truth blur together until selfhood fractures. Incubi and succubi are Fiends, feeding not merely on life force but on illusion, longing, fantasy, and self-deception. A Fiend’s power comes from what others believe about themselves in its presence.
Fiendborne—Refers to a being who exists between human and fiend states, carrying the mark of delusion without having fully surrendered to it. A Fiendborne retains human conscience, agency, and moral struggle, yet is bound to the hunger, perceptions, or compulsions of Fiends. They may still choose restraint, mastery, or severance but doing so requires constant effort. The Fiendborne prophecy implies a singular anomaly rather than a lineage; a first occurrence whose existence may challenge the structure of The Cycle itself.
Forsaken Maw—The metaphysical deathscape and the largest plane at the edge of the Hollow Realm where existence erodes. A place of karmic starvation, it dissolves all memory, identity, and agency.

Hungry Ghost—The experiential state of a Preta, emphasizing the felt reality of its existence rather than its karmic classification. A Hungry Ghost is trapped in perpetual dissatisfaction, haunted by needs it can never meet and memories of fullness it can no longer reach. Where “Preta” names the metaphysical condition, “Hungry Ghost” names the lived torment, an existence defined by absence, yearning, and decay without resolution.

Impurity Consciousness (VII)– The self-referential stratum of awareness that generates the sense of a personal “I” and claims experiences as mine. It is the source of ego, attachment, and grasping, asserting continuity and ownership over thought, memory, and action. While not inherently malicious, the Impurity Consciousness contracts perception around identity, staining higher consciousnesses when dominant and distorting meaning formed by the Thinking Consciousness. Within the Waking Earth, it is the primary engine of suffering: when unchecked, it binds karmic residue to selfhood, shaping fate and reinforcing The Cycle; when loosened, clarity and compassion may arise without loss of agency.
Incubist—A soul bound by the contract of Incubism, empowered by the Incubus King to act across realms. Incubi retain memory and wield metaphysical power, but their freedom is gone. While not inherently demonic, Incubi operate through delusion, trickery, and manipulation—often deceiving others to serve their own aims. Some act as tempters, others as tormentors, but all obliged to keep souls trapped in cycles of power, craving, and delusion. To encounter an Incubist is to be tested not by violence, but by seduction of truth. Their strength lies not in what they reveal, but in what they convince you to forget.
Incubus King –The sovereign of the Hollow Realm. A transcendent manipulator who rarely intervenes directly yet exerts immense influence through the shaping of desire and illusion. His reach is extended through the hearts of others, weaving fate not by movement, but by manipulation. He presents choices that are not choices at all, constructs of delusion crafted to maintain the illusion of will. He is both architect and consequence, reigning not through presence, but inevitability.
Ineffable Name—The essential spiritual identity of a soul, divided into three aspects: Masculine, Feminine, and Primordial Tone. Remembering even one part of the Ineffable Name signals deep spiritual maturity. Full recovery of one’s Ineffable Name allows transcendence to the Sagely Realms. Those undergoing Instantaneous Reincarnation retain this identity across lifetimes, though memory of it is still suppressed.
Instantaneous Reincarnation—A rare and karmically volatile path where souls bypass the Veil of Transmutation due to preexisting spiritual directives. These reincarnations carry tremendous weight; success may lead to rapid ascension, failure to severe descent. Such souls retain their Ineffable Name, though access to it remains veiled.
