The Threshold
The Threshold Text of The Waking Earth
Before the books begin, there is a doorway.
The world of The Waking Earth may look like our own on the surface, but it does not move by ordinary rules. Beneath the visible world is a sacred order shaped by karma, memory, delusion, suffering, and return.
This poem is the invitation into that world.
It is not a map. It is not a doctrine. It is a warning, a vow, and a threshold. It tells the reader what kind of story they are entering: not a world to conquer, but a world to witness.
Under The Cycle
You are on Earth.
That is the conventional truth—the surface of things.
A world bound to the Endless Cycle.
But beneath the surface lies something deeper:
The Waking Earth.
Powered by greed, anger, and—most of all—delusion.
Everyone is born with a soul. That is not in question.
What changes is where that soul must go next.
The realm is earned. The forgetting is automatic.
Most people live and die within The Cycle, never knowing it exists.
But if you are reading this, you are not most people.
You are touched. Among the one percent.
You have glimpsed the edge of the Spiral of Awakening—
From the dream to the truth, each level a thousandfold narrowing.
And still, all are born from the same human clay.
These stories are not about heroes who escape it.
They are about those who suffer inside it.
Who remember. Who resist. Who fall.
Not many read this far.
Fewer still understand.
If you’re still here… you’re already different.
You are not here to conquer this world.
You are here to bear witness.
To remember more than you forget.
This is their story.
And yours.
Because all of us return.
Again, and again.
Under The Cycle.
What This Poem Means
Under The Cycle is the mission statement for The Waking Earth.
It tells the reader that these stories take place inside a sacred structure. The characters may live in recognizable worlds, with cities, families, violence, love, hunger, memory, and loss, but beneath all of it is The Cycle.
The Cycle is not simply reincarnation. It is consequence. It is forgetting. It is the momentum of greed, anger, and delusion moving through lives, worlds, and ages.
The Waking Earth is what appears when that surface begins to crack.
These books are not about heroes escaping suffering from above. They are about beings caught inside The Cycle who begin, however painfully, to remember where they are.
