K_________________________________________________________________________________

Karmic Load—See Weight. Refers specifically to the total density of unresolved karma.

Kunoichi—A female shinobi trained in espionage, stealth, and psychological manipulation. Kunoichi specializes in disguise, infiltration, and subterfuge, using skill and cunning rather than brute force to achieve their objectives.

Ley Lines—A term used to describe the invisible lines of energy connecting ancient sites, sacred landmarks, and natural formations across the Waking Earth. Believers claim these lines carry spiritual or geomagnetic power and may influence intuition, ritual effectiveness, and unexplained phenomena. There is no current scientific consensus supporting their existence; the concept is generally regarded as pseudoscience.

Liminal Atrium—The threshold space between the Human Realm and the deeper layers of the Realm of Whispered Truth. A waypoint for visitors, it appears to them in a unique form: a library, an observatory, a council hall. It manifests reflecting their personal relationship with knowledge. Time flows differently here, in a state known as the Revealing Future.

Liminal Shore—A waiting ground on the edge of rebirth reserved for higher-merit souls. Unlike the Veil, this astral shore allows preparation for future incarnation through reflection and resonance with soul bonds. It is not a place of choice, but of subtle influence. Souls here may wait decades before return.

Liminal Spaces—Transitional zones that exist between realms, formed from the echoes and tensions of the surrounding metaphysical landscape. Though shaped by the realm they border, liminal spaces are neither fixed nor permanent. They serve as thresholds, places of passage, not residence. Souls or entities may enter them through altered states: dreams, sacred rites, near-death and death experiences, or profound psychological rupture. Time bends in these spaces, and memory blurs.

Liminal Warwake—The strange in-between zone where dead warriors go before being reborn each day in the Ashura Shogunate. Unlike ordinary death, this is a recurring limbo, where time resets and memory blurs, but pain and purpose accumulate.

Long-Lived—A being whose lifespan is extended through indirect metaphysical means such as memory transmission, soul anchoring, artifact stabilization, or Realm adjacency. Long-lived beings still age, though slowly or cyclically, and remain fundamentally mortal.

Lucid Dreams—Windows into the past lives of buried selves. These dreams act as bridges to forgotten identities and offer glimpses of truths yet to unfold. For some, they are echoes of what was; for others, they are omens of what will be.

Merit—See Wake.

Mind Kingdom—An emergent, non-geographic domain formed wherever the Thinking Consciousness (VI), the Impurity Consciousness (VII), and the Storehouse Consciousness (VIII) interact strongly enough to create a shared or self-reinforcing mental environment. The Mind Kingdom arises within individuals, between people, or across populations, manifesting as dreams, obsessions, trauma loops, collective fear, or ideological capture. It is the primary locus of symbolic experience: sensory input is muted, ego is loosened or distorted, and karmic residue expresses itself through image, narrative, and emotion. The Mind Kingdom does not compel action or erase agency; rather, it shapes perception and meaning, becoming navigable only when grasping weakens and awareness stabilizes.

N_________________________________________________________________________________

Nāthāra—An epoch of approximately 2,500 years marked by the collective transformation of souls the equivalent of the Five Mounts of the Lustral Haven ground to dust reflecting that movement of dust through The Cycle.

Near-Immortal—A being sustained by the authority of a Realm. They do not age and are extraordinarily hard to kill, regenerating as long as their Realm continues to recognize them. If that dominion is withdrawn, they become mortal once more.

Nure-Onna—A serpent-bodied river demon and supernatural form of Nozomi, born from grief and longing. As a Nure-Onna, she embodies both compassion and wrath, protector and predator. Her venom grants long life but at a price.
